She has won a prestigious bronze medal in the ongoing Asian Junior and School Boxing Championship, currently going on in Al Ain City, United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi.
The delirious amount of talent and enthusiasm that Ayesha Mumtaz possesses, she secured the podium with some well-deserved metal around her neck after a highly impressive display of her skills during the quarterfinal round. She defeated strong competitor Vietnam’s Thi Hong Yen Nguyen to reach the very competitive semis, where she has ensured herself of at least a bronze medal, marking a big milestone and first for Pakistan boxing.
Fighting within the pinweight category picked for contestants up to 46 kg, Ayesha Mumtaz had a superb and powerful combination of technical skills and strategic acumen during all her fights.
